How Much Distance Is Enough?
A good rule of thumb is the “three-second rule”:
Pick a stationary object on the side of the road. When the vehicle in front of you passes it, count “one-thousand-one, one-thousand-two, one-thousand-three.” If you reach the object before finishing the count, you’re too close.
